Project Number: BC-4
Construction began in October 2016 and was completed in 2017.
The total project cost was $963,903 (including feasibility study, administrative costs, design and construction) of which $810,930 was funded by a 2016 ad valorem tax levy collected via Hennepin County on behalf of the Commission. The City of Golden Valley paid the remaining balance for the project.
The BCWMC, in cooperation with the City of Golden Valley, constructed the Honeywell Pond Enhancement/Improvement Project to directly address the need to provide treatment of runoff in addition to the Best Management Practices (BMPS) that will be constructed for the Douglas Drive project scheduled for construction in Golden Valley in 2016. The Honeywell Pond Enhancement/Improvement Project expanded Honeywell Pond to allow for additional water quality treatment of storm water flowing into and through the area from the upstream watershed prior to its discharge to Bassett Creek. The project also include installation of a pump and piping to use pond water to irrigate nearby ballfields.
