
About North Branch Bassett Creek
The North Branch of Bassett Creek drains approximately four-square miles of portions of Plymouth, New Hope, and Crystal, as well as a very small portion of Golden Valley. The North Branch starts near Rockford Road (County Road 9) west of Highway 169 and flows east through New Hope and Crystal. The North Branch of Bassett Creek flows through Northwood Lake and Bassett Creek Park Pond before joining the Main Stem of Bassett Creek immediately upstream of Highway 100.
The North Branch of Bassett Creek is included on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's (MPCA) Impaired Waters list for an impaired use of aquatic recreation due to fecal coliform levels. The North Branch of Bassett Creek is included in the MPCA's Upper Mississippi River Bacteria TMDL and Protection Plan, which was approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2014.
